On World Day for International Justice: The ACIJLP calls on Arab states to join the ICC and stand in solidarity against US attacks

On the occasion of the World Day for International Justice, the Arab Center for the Independence of the Judiciary and the Legal Profession (ACIJLP) and the Arab Coalition for the International Criminal Court (ACICC) express their deep concern and strong condemnation of the continued attacks by the United States administration against the International Criminal Court (ICC).

At a time when the international community marks the World Day for International Justice on 17 July, the ICC is facing one of the most systematic campaigns directed against it by the United States. In an opinion article published on 13 July — four days before the commemoration of the World Day for International Justice — US Secretary of State Marco Rubio set out the Trump administration’s position, declaring the Government’s determination to “dismantle the International Criminal Court — brick by brick if necessary” and affirming its intention to employ all tools available to the United States Government to that end.
